As Chief Investment Officer, Scott leads Sowell Management’s Office of the CIO, bringing together investment leadership, portfolio construction, research, advisor consulting and a curated network of specialized investment partners. His focus is on giving independent advisors the institutional expertise and support to serve increasingly sophisticated clients while creating capacity to grow their businesses.

Scott brings two decades of asset management experience, spanning institutional investing, wealth management, and close collaboration with advisors. He works alongside advisors to translate their clients’ objectives into tailored investment strategies, aligning institutional resources with the needs of each advisor and their clients.

Before joining Sowell, Scott founded Fusion Investment Group in 2006, where he served as CEO and Chief Investment Officer. He also served as Managing Partner and CIO at Blue Vase Holdings, helping guide investment decisions and grow the firm to over $1 billion in assets before its sale to ING. He brings deep expertise in client relationship management, having raised more than $850 million in client assets and over $25 million in early-stage capital.

Scott’s career includes roles at Rayliant Global Advisors, where he led strategic initiatives and firm growth, and at Columbus Macro, as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager. His broad experience in investment management and strategic sales has shaped his understanding of both the investment challenges and business opportunities facing independent advisors.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Scott earned his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, with studies in London and Singapore. He also holds a BS in finance with honors from Grove City College. He serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for The Asservo Project, which works to protect and rescue children from sex trafficking and exploitation.

Scott resides with his family in South Carolina. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and is passionate about giving back to his community and supporting organizations that align with his values.
