JR Quraishi serves as Director of Tax Planning for Sowell Management’s Advanced Planning Group (APG), where he helps advisors identify proactive tax planning opportunities for affluent families, business owners, and high-net-worth clients.

A graduate of the University of Arkansas (B.S. Accounting) and the University of Illinois (Master of Accountancy with an emphasis in Taxation), JR combines technical tax expertise with a practical understanding of how tax decisions impact broader wealth planning objectives.

Prior to joining Sowell Management, JR founded and led Quraishi Tax and Accounting, where he advised individuals and business owners on tax planning, entity structuring, and long-term financial strategies. His experience spans individual taxation, business taxation, multi-year tax projections, retirement planning strategies, and entity-level tax optimization. As Director of Tax Planning, JR leads APG’s Strategic Tax Planning initiative, helping advisors uncover opportunities involving Roth conversions, charitable strategies, income timing, business structures, and other proactive tax planning solutions.

JR believes some of the most valuable tax opportunities are identified long before a return is filed. His work focuses on helping advisors and clients make informed decisions that create long-term value and improve financial outcomes.
